Courier Service from Mumbai to Qatar, Collected from Your Door
Qatar is home to more than 8 lakh Indians, so parcels travel between India and Qatar all year round: certificates for visa and job formalities, gifts for birthdays and Eid, home-made food, medicines, and personal items for families who have just relocated. Our courier service from Mumbai to Qatar covers the whole route. We collect from your door in Mumbai, weigh and check the pack, prepare the export paperwork, fly the shipment to Doha and follow it through Qatar Customs to the recipient.
One rule comes before everything else: send only what you have packed yourself and can name item by item. In May 2024 the Indian Embassy in Doha warned the community against carrying unsolicited parcels for other people, after banned items, including drugs, were found in such parcels. The same caution applies to couriers. Tell us exactly what is inside, and we will check it against Qatar’s rules before pickup.
How to Send a Parcel from India to Qatar, Step by Step
- Tell us what you are sending. Share the contents, approximate weight and the recipient’s full name, Qatar address and mobile number.
- Choose a service. Express for urgent papers and parcels, Standard for planned shipments. You get the quote before anything moves.
- Pickup in Mumbai. We collect from your home or office, weigh the parcel with you and check that it is packed to travel by air.
- Complete the paperwork. Photo ID, a contents list with values and, for business shipments, an invoice. Details are in the customs section below.
- Track and receive. You get a tracking number, and the recipient is called when the parcel reaches Qatar. Our guide on how to track packages worldwide explains what each status means.
What Can You Send from Mumbai to Qatar?
Most everyday and commercial items can go, subject to the limits further down this page. These are the shipments we handle most:
- Documents: degree and academic certificates, employment and visa papers, contracts and bank documents, delivered tracked to a named person.
- Gifts: clothes, ethnic wear, watches, books and keepsakes. See our gifts courier service and the guide on sending gifts abroad without worry.
- Food from home: sealed, shelf-stable snacks, sweets, spices and tea. Our eatable items courier service explains how food is packed for the journey.
- Relocation and household goods: kitchenware, bedding, books and personal effects. Read how to ship household items safely, or use the household items courier service.
- Excess baggage: sending bags ahead of a move or trip often costs less than airline excess fees. Details are on our excess baggage courier page.
- Business samples and orders: garments, handicrafts and e-commerce parcels for customers in Qatar, with a commercial invoice.
- Heavy or bulk goods: larger consignments go through our cargo services with customs handling.
Mumbai to Qatar Courier Delivery Time
The flight from Mumbai to Doha is short, so most of the elapsed time is pickup, export handling and Qatar customs clearance. You will see claims online that range from next-day to over a week. A realistic planning figure for a correctly documented parcel is below.
| Service | Typical transit* | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Express | 2–4 working days | Documents, urgent parcels, medicines with full paperwork |
| Standard | 5–8 working days | Gifts, food, personal parcels, planned shipments |
| Air freight cargo | Quoted per shipment | Heavy, bulk or commercial consignments |
*Indicative, counted from pickup. Public holidays, customs inspection, missing paperwork and remote delivery addresses can add time.
Courier Charges from India to Qatar: What Decides the Price
Per-kg rates quoted on the internet for India to Qatar vary a lot, because the real price depends on your parcel. We quote after we know what you are sending, so the figure you hear is the figure you pay. Four things set it:
- Chargeable weight: the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is length × width × height in cm, divided by 5,000. Our volumetric weight guide shows a worked example.
- Service level: Express costs more than Standard.
- Contents: food, medicines and commercial goods need extra handling and clearance.
- Delivery location: Doha and nearby towns are usually quicker than remote areas.
For a general idea of how we price, see our international courier rates page. To lower the cost, use a snug, right-sized box, combine items into one shipment and pick Standard when you are not in a hurry. If the contents are valuable, ask about transit cover and declare the true value, since standard carrier liability is usually limited.
Qatar Customs, Duties and Documents
Customs is where most international parcels get delayed. We prepare the Indian export documents and coordinate clearance in Qatar. Under the common GCC tariff, many commercial goods attract duty of about 5% of the declared value, while personal gifts and documents are treated differently. Qatar’s customs authority updates thresholds from time to time, so we confirm what applies to your parcel at booking.
| Shipment type | Typically required |
|---|---|
| Personal parcels and gifts | Sender’s photo ID and address proof; contents list with values; recipient’s full name as on their Qatar ID or passport, Qatar address and a working phone number |
| Documents | Sender’s ID; recipient’s full address and phone number |
| Commercial and e-commerce | Commercial invoice, packing list, IEC (Import Export Code), GSTIN and export clearance details; the consignee’s import details in Qatar |
| Medicines | Doctor’s prescription and medical report, original packs and generic names (see next section) |
Requirements change with the contents, so we confirm the exact list when you book. Our guides to customs clearance and avoiding customs delays cover the common mistakes.
Sending Medicines to Qatar
Medicines are the most common reason a parcel to Qatar gets stopped. The Indian Embassy’s May 2024 advisory quoted Qatar’s Ministry of Interior conditions for travellers carrying medicine: an attested medical report from the treating hospital, valid for no more than six months, showing the patient’s details, diagnosis, treatment plan and duration, the prescription and the scientific name of the medicine. Narcotic and psychotropic drugs are allowed only under strict authority controls, and the person carrying the item bears full responsibility if it turns out to be prohibited.
We apply the same standard to courier shipments. Send only medicine prescribed for the recipient, in original packs, in a quantity that matches the treatment period, with the prescription and report. Codeine, tramadol and some sedatives need advance approval from Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health. Never accept medicine from someone else to forward.
What You Cannot Send to Qatar, or Can Send Only with Conditions
Not accepted
- Alcohol and pork products
- Narcotics and psychotropic substances
- Vapes, e-cigarettes and CBD products
- Counterfeit or pirated goods
- Obscene material and anything contrary to Islamic principles
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives and weapons
- Cash and currency
- Flammables, aerosols, compressed gases and other dangerous goods
Allowed with conditions
- Electronics and radio equipment: phones and laptops are fine. Wireless and telecom devices may need approval from Qatar’s communications regulator, and drones need checking first.
- Food: sealed, shelf-stable items without pork or alcohol are usually fine. Meat and dairy need checking.
- Gold and jewellery: declare accurately; expect extra checks.
- Batteries: devices with built-in batteries can usually travel. Loose lithium batteries and power banks have air transport limits.
- Liquids: sealed, leak-proof packing only. Perfumes and aerosols are restricted.

Delivery Across Qatar
We deliver throughout Qatar, including Doha, Lusail, Al Wakrah, Al Khor, Al Rayyan, Umm Salal, Mesaieed and Dukhan. Shipments arrive through Hamad International Airport in Doha and continue with local delivery partners to the door.
Address tip: Qatar addresses work best as building number, street number and zone, with the area name and a mobile number that will be answered. A name that matches the recipient’s Qatar ID avoids hold-ups at handover. For safe packing, follow our 5 safe packaging tips.

Frequently Asked Questions For Courier Service to Qatar
How do I send a courier from Mumbai to Qatar?
Call or message us with the contents, weight and recipient’s Qatar address, choose Express or Standard and approve the quote. We collect from your door in Mumbai, prepare the export paperwork, fly the parcel to Doha and clear it through Qatar Customs. You can follow progress with the tracking number we give you.
How long does a courier from India to Qatar take?
Express usually takes 2–4 working days and Standard 5–8 working days from pickup. Customs inspection, missing paperwork, remote addresses and public holidays in Qatar can add time. Be wary of next-day promises, since customs clearance rarely allows it.
What are the courier charges from Mumbai to Qatar per kg?
There is no single per-kg figure. Charges depend on chargeable weight (actual or volumetric, whichever is higher), the service, the contents and the delivery area. Send us the details and we quote before pickup.
What is the cheapest way to send a parcel from Mumbai to Qatar?
Standard service is usually the most economical when you are not in a hurry. Pack in a right-sized box, combine items into one parcel and declare contents accurately so customs does not hold it for inspection.
Can I send Indian food and spices to Qatar?
Sealed, shelf-stable food such as spices, tea, snacks and sweets is commonly sent. Pork and alcohol are not allowed, and meat or dairy needs checking first. Tell us what is inside and we advise before pickup.
What documents are needed to send medicines to Qatar?
Prescription medicine for the recipient’s own use, with the doctor’s prescription, a medical report from the treating hospital (valid for no more than six months), original packs and the generic name. Controlled drugs such as codeine and tramadol need advance approval from Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health.
Can I send a parcel to Qatar on behalf of a friend or neighbour?
We strongly advise against it unless you have seen and packed every item yourself. The Indian Embassy in Doha has warned that banned items, including drugs, have turned up in parcels carried or sent for other people, and the sender can be held responsible.
Can I send vapes, e-cigarettes or alcohol to Qatar?
No. Alcohol, vapes, e-cigarettes and CBD products are prohibited in Qatar, and customs can seize or destroy them. We cannot accept them.
Will the recipient pay duty or taxes in Qatar?
It depends on the contents and declared value. Many commercial goods attract duty of about 5% under the common GCC tariff, while personal gifts and documents are often treated differently. We tell you what to expect at booking.
Do you collect from my area in Mumbai?
We collect from across Mumbai, including the suburbs and Navi Mumbai. Call us with your pin code and we confirm pickup timing.
